Spellbound

We thought we'd pass along a few items that we have learned from Iva. Let's talk about his first public appearance in quite a while! Iva, along with several other celebrities, will be playing tennis for the Starlight Foundation on December 6th, 1998. This tennis tournament will benefit the foundation and provide an afternoon of fun for all involved! The plan, as we go to press, is to pair up twenty tennis pros with twenty celebrities. Iva falls into the "celebrities" column as he told Spellbound he has not played tennis for a year or two...or ten...he is hoping to make a good showing, despite his game being a little rusty! It is not known at this time who Iva will be paired with but we'll be sure to have all the details in the next full issue of Spellbound!

Iva has also been invited to attend the opening to the Museum of Modern Art in Sydney. He did not have any more details than knowing that he was invited. The possible date for this opening is December 5th, 1998.

The most exciting news Iva told us concerned the song he is currently working on. During the week of December 6th-12th, Iva will be going into a studio in Sydney to work on this song and he will be bringing along the full Australian Chamber Orchestra! The early word on this song is that it is something special and we're sure the inclusion of the orchestra will only add to that! Iva's management team is in Europe at the moment and has played some of the new music for record company executives. All of the responses have been very positive so that is a very good sign for Iva and Icehouse! Let's all hope that 1999 will gift Iva with an overseas record contract!

Iva and his family are already in full swing for the holiday season! November 30th found the Davies family attending a Carols by Candlelight program given by the school Brynn attends. Brynn was involved with the program and joined in the singing of the carols. Evan enjoyed himself during the program and was reported to be "dancing around" by his Grandfather Davies. Brynn also has an upcoming piano recital to give.
